Artwork for CBS3’s Talk Philly

Last week I finished up three new pieces for the set of the new CBS3 talk show, Talk Philly.  The station wanted pieces that were bright, colorful, and reflected Philadelphia.  The first piece is featured behind the demo area, where the show will feature special products, cooking segments, etc.  It’s comprised of nine 12’’ x 12’’ cube canvases, painted together in a Philadelphia skyline.  The second piece is a 24” x 36” Talk Philly branded piece, bringing together several main focal points of Philly, including William Penn, the Phillies’ “P”, the Ben Franklin Bridge, and the Liberty Bell.  The third piece is not specifically tied-in to a  Philadelphia theme, but rather is just two 12” x 36′ pieces, brought together with lots of movement and color.

I loved working on this project.  The set is set-up to give off a loft-type feel with exposed brick and industrial elements.  You can view the assembly of the set here.  I would love to live in a loft like this one day, so I had a great time painting with the bright colors to provide a juxtaposition against the bricks.

Catch CBS3’s Talk Philly on everyday at noon!  Here are some clips from the show were you can see my artwork in the background:
