Weekend Art Report: April 1st

It is a full art weekend here in Philadelphia!

My work will be featured in two First Friday shows this upcoming Friday, April 1st. One show will be at Pinot Boutique in Old City, Philadelphia, located at 227 Market Street. A mix of several new and old original pieces will be on display, accompanied by wine tastings and light fare.

The other show will be at Drink Philly HQ, located at 239 Chestnut Street. Drink Philly will be hosting a silent auction to benefit the Red Cross of Japan. (Read a great write-up from friend, Geekadelphia, here). All artwork proceeds will go straight to help the people in Japan. The show will feature art from several local Philly artists, as well as free food and beer from Q BBQ & Tequila and Magic Hat Brewing Company.

If you have haven’t had enough art after the First Friday shows, come out to Nordstrom in the King of Prussia Mall on Saturday, April 2nd, where I’ll be custom painting the new children’s line of TOMS Shoes at their Style Your Sole event! Customers will be able to purchase TOMS shoes, and have them customized on the spot by myself and fellow Philly artist, Sean Martorana.

Amongst the wonderful gallery shows, I’ve also been keeping busy with various other art projects, collaborations and commissions. I’ve also been attending graduate school in the evenings, pursuing a Masters degree in Marketing Management at Temple’s Fox School of Business. The school got wind of my art, and was kind enough to feature me in their monthly Faces of Fox column. 🙂 Additionally, I had featured pieces in the wildly successful Bookspace Art Show, in mid-March. A big thank-you is owed to all of my friends in gallery spaces for their continued support!

Finally, http://www.brittmillerart.com is in the midst of a major re-design thanks to designer/blogger extraordinaire, Michaelangelo Ilagan. Keep an eye out for the launch of the new site!

Philadelphia Productions & Phillyist ArtIST

Happy Holidays and New Year to everyone!

I’ve been keeping busy lately with creating several Philly Skyline and Boathouse Row  paintings and greeting cards for the holiday season. I also had a great photoshoot with Steve Boyle from Philadelphia Productions. He took lots of wonderful shots of me among my art, to be used around my website. Read more about the shoot here, and keep an eye out for the new pictures on the site!

Additionally, I was featured on the Phillyist website today in their latest ArtIST post.  A big thank you to Phillyist for writing up such a nice feature.

Cheers and best wishes to everyone in 2011! Hope you all enjoy ringing in the new year this weekend.

Philly Skyline Print

Here is an example of a framed Philly Skyline Print, thanks to my friend Dennis who bought it last spring. Several of my pieces are currently available as prints; they make a nice alternative to original pieces, and you can collect several of them!
